When did I ever say that putting skinny women on ads isn’t degrading as fuck to women? It absolutely is, and it’s one of the things that irritates me about society.

I said that being a submissive woman in bed isn’t indicative of how a woman desires to be treated outside of the bedroom. A woman’s sexuality has no bearing on how she is treated by the government, by the people around her, and by her place of employment. Being a submissive in bed has no bearing on the fact that she makes 77 cents to every dollar that a man makes. Being a submissive in bed has no bearing on the fact that the government wants to regulate what goes in and comes out of her body (abortion, birth control, et al).

Being submissive in bed has bearing on one thing, and one thing only, that a woman likes a partner who is dominant, and all that the word implies.

Telling a woman what and how she should be in bed is the very antithesis of feminism and all that it stands for.

The sooner you get that through your head, the happier we’ll be. But you’re not interested in my opinion, you’re interested in your narrow-minded definition of feminism and what you think the word implies. We’re actually pretty reasonable people, when you speak to us in a rational tone of voice, but using the word ‘bitch’ in this context is, in fact, slut-shaming, and isn’t earning you any points with anyone at the moment.

Do yourself a favor and re-read what you just wrote. What happens in the bedroom has no bearing on how you’re treated by society, according to the tenets of feminism. Women demand the same amount of respect that men get on a daily basis without having to work for it like women do on a daily basis.

Being a sub is not pathetic, it’s a choice of sexual preference, the same as if you decided that one day you could only get off by jerking off while being hit in the face with a pie by a clown. It’s weird to some people, sure, but if it creams your twinkie, you shouldn’t make less money because of it at your day job. You shouldn’t lose your job because you get off on being sworn at in Yiddish while you dress in raw meat. You shouldn’t be told what you can and cannot do in the course of consensual sex you have in the privacy of your own home.

The only time this should become an issue is when there is not consent between partners, because then that is rape.

Being a feminist is about choice, and the freedom of that choice, for everyone, men included. It’s about mutual respect on both sides of the gender binary, and all the spaces in-between. And until the world stops treating people with less respect than they treat a heterosexual white male, feminism is needed.

And that’s all I have to say about that.

As a woman who actually PREFERS the be sub, I’d like to shout a big, un-eloquent “fuck you” to blogofagenius. Because I’ve spent my entire life having images of how women should look shoved into my face that my self esteem is minimal at best, which makes it really difficult for me to be more dominant in the bedroom. However, that doesn’t stop me from being fucking awesome in my day-to-day life. Doesn’t stop me from wanting to be treated the same as any other person.
